Đất nghĩ gì mà lòng hừng hực lửa
Biển nghĩ gì mà sóng vỗ không ngưng
Gió nghĩ gì mà đứng lại ngập ngừng
Người nhớ ai mà mông lung nhìn lặng

Mây nghĩ gì mà giăng đầy tơ trắng
Trời nghĩ gì mà tuôn nắng xuống trần
Cát nghĩ gì mà bỏng rát đôi chân
Người buồn ai mà lưng trần ửng đỏ

Đá nghĩ gì mà đá chìm đá nổi
Núi nghĩ gì mà tiếp nối ra khơi
Rong nghĩ gì khi nằm bập bềnh trôi
Người phụ người…
                                   Chim trời vừa xa khuất

What does the earth think of to have its heart’s full of fervent fire
What does the sea think of to have its waves always rolling
What does the wind think of when it stops moving
Who does one think of when one gazes dreamily in the far distance?

What does the cloud think of to spread white silky patches
What does Heaven think of to brighten the earth with sunshine
What does the sand think of to make a person’s feet rashingly hot
For whom is one sad to have mist in one’s eyes

What does a rock think of to be sinking and floating
What does the mountain think of when surrounded by the sea
What does the seaweed think of to drift bobbingly in the waves
A broken trust…
                               A bird just disappeared in the far horizon..
